Mexican Night was a hit!

The Hawes hosted Mexican night at casa Metzger. What a nice evening.
We had sun, great food, and all the chips you could eat.

The nacho bar was an awesome idea, set up by the Hawes family.
Julie's enchiladas were a hit with both adults and kids. Yummy!
Rees put together some spicy chicken tostadas that we pretty, healthy, and delicious!
The Stitelers brought their precious 1 month old Hatcher, and a yummy layer dip.
The Myers brought some fresh and scrumptious halibut ceviche. A keeper recipe that should be shared.
Tortilla soup was provided by the Murphy's. I think Erik finished it off so they wouldn't worry about spilling the leftovers on the way home.
I hope I didn't forget anyone. Please add if I did.
It is so nice to have great friends to chill and eat food with :-)
Can't wait until next time.

Minutes of Cuban night

Some of the things we discussed finalized with a 2/3rd vote...

*guest will be $10 a person 21 and over (for those who are not members)
*members pay weather they are present or not
*Drawing each night split the pot ½ to winner ½ to pot
*Ticket for those who show for final pot (have to be a member)
Last name out of the pot takes the big pot
Winners can take the 1st and 2nd place winnings at the end (May 5, 2011)
*Finally will be May 5th, 2011 “cinco de mayo” theme
*Start times: Weekends 5:00 Weeknights 6:00
*Wine night, we hope someone will host a wine night!
*To join, you have to "back pay" to get into the final pot

On another note: the Hawes' have offered to host May 13, 2010. This is a Thursday, details will follow.

Can't wait to get this party started. Another year of good friends, good food, and good times. Miller's will be cooking a Ropa Vieja (shredded steak with mushrooms onions and tomatoes) We will keep an ice, rum, and mint on hand for mojitos. Can't wait to see you all there!

Welcome to AK Dinner Club 2010

We are so excited to be hosting our first dinner party this Saturday at 5pm. Our theme is Cuban and Rees will be cooking something great. He won't tell me yet.
